    Still have to spend many hours on the left side valve cover yet. I've been putting this off after spending so, so long on the other one. It's worth it when it's done though.

    I'm curious when you show the bearings, cams and crank and you say they look good, what are you looking for necessarily? Upon visual inspection, what are you looking for exactly? scoring? pitting? the obvious? or is there something more obvious i'd miss if i didn't know?

    Yes looking for scoring and pitting on the cam journals and crank journals and wear marks on the bearings. Often the bearings will be starting to show copper through in the bottom of the curve or at least starting to change colour. Mine almost looked brand new.
