See them all now? Dear god I hope so.

Holy Jesus. I went from Google Photos to Flickr, that shit didn't work.
Went from Flickr to Imgur, that worked but holy shit 56k beware, god damn picture were full size. So I had to delete those images then re-upload them adjusting the size. Hopefully everyone can see everything now and we can go on with our business. I work in IT and manage multiple critical systems in a healthcare environment and finding a reliable imaging hosting site had me almost stumped.
        Ok rant off.

I'm going to go remove the head off my car now.

My wife came home late one night, so I stole her spot in the garage. Rare shot of both my cars under one roof.

Finally removed the head. That rear coolant hose that runs in the lower part of the heater core is a real bitch to get off.

30 years and 230,000 miles of carbon buildup.

Pic of the head. Heavy SOB. Helps to straddle the engine and lift with your back in a sharp, twisting fashion.

            Gross

            More gross

Old timing belt. Didn't look too bad except for this part.

I found some unusual markings on the underside of the head I've never seen before. Buddy of mine said a neglected spark plug probably came apart and not to worry much about it.

This bolt was a serious pain in the dick to get undone.

On a scale of 1 to absolutely fucked. How bad is this AC condenser? Could this be the cause of my AC leak? Should I just replace it?

Sorry, it was hard to get a good pic of the grooves.

Wow, its been a month since my last update.

Put the head in the back of my E90 and took it to the nearest car wash.

Covered it in degreaser and power washed as much crap off as I could before I took it to the machine shop.

Back from the machine shop, practically brand new.

Head reassembled. Seriously, not as easy as I thought this was going to be. Took me about 3 tries on each side to get the rocker rods to line up with little metal piece at the end to line up both sides. Very stressful but at least I know its done right.

                  Nasty thermostat housing.

                  Cleaned up and painted.

Originally my car came with a summer set of wheels that were 15" black with a polished lip and a winter set, which were the 14" bottle caps.
Recently I sold the 15" black wheels because 1. I didn't like them and 2. They had a crazy offset that would rub fenders if I ever lowered the car. I bought some cheap tires to put on the bottle caps so I can sell the studded winter tires that were currently on them. Call me crazy but I really like the way the bottle caps look.

Blocked off the throttle body heater.
The little piece up by the throttle body, I cut off the little things the hose connects to, filled it with JB Weld, sanded and painted it.

The thermostat housing, I cut off the little thing the hose connects to and filled it with JB Weld

The coolant hose that attaches to the block, I just found a little bolt online that fit perfectly.

                        Painted the valve cover.

Bought some E36 injectors from eBay and assembled the top end.

Bolted head to block. (Torque angle gauges can S my D). Next time I do this I am buying ARP. Never again.
Since this was manufactured prior to 9/87 I don't have those nifty injector rails for late model folks have, so I have to snake all those cables through the intake manifold.

Used my wife's labeler to label each injector plug.

It looks like a real boy now.

Thanks for the offer but I removed the entire AC system in this car. I am trying to dumb down this thing as much as possible. So far I have removed AC, blocked off the power steering, and currently working on converting the windows to crank.
