It has literally taken me just under 2 years to finally track one down. I must have had arrangements with about 5-6 people that had them, said they were going to cut it off for me and ship it, and the deals either fell through or I just never heard from them again. It was really starting to piss me off, but I finally got mine from Joe Funk (Funkmasta) in Portland.

1) Rubberized undercoating is the wrong product for the application.
2) Mike E. is right regarding the attachment
3) Josh, get off your fucking high horse thinking that you are king shit for doing this and its "never been attempted" by many before... There are plenty more than just yourself, Trent, and Bill. Europe... long ago.
4) Use rubberized Seam sealer on the seam... not fucking undercoating.
5) remove the fucking ghetto screws. They will rust
6) You better POR-15 or similar those area's before you add any seam/rubberized undercoating.

And I realize the way you do things at your work is different than what I'm doing. The difference between your work and my garage is that I don't have a customer paying me inflated shop charges to perform factory-level bodywork on their car. I have myself and my brother in law, using the tools we have available to us, and the methods that will work the best within the budget that I have. I'm not going to spend large amounts of money and dozens of hours of time making a DIY retrofit look like a factory body line, especially seeing as how it's going to be in an area that will NEVER be seen. This is not a factory-fitting piece. I appreciate your concern here Mike, but there's really no need for you to keep pressing this matter. The method we are using will be more than adequate. You've made your point clear that you don't agree with the way we're doing it, let's just leave it at that.

For all the shit/flack/hell/abuse/cursing/dislike/etc/etc Jordan took, at least he did things correctly, the first time.


Props for not giving up as you originally wanted to do, but don't go about doing this as a R3V method.... do it right or don't do it.

I'm getting so sick of this, Chris. You do this to me about 3-4 times a year. You never post on the board at all, and then for whatever reason or another, you decide to come back and post a for a few days, talk about how much you hate the board, and without fail, find something to completely rip me apart about. I'm fucking tired of it. Sorry to have pissed you off so bad, Chris. I won't let it happen again.

I will be sealing the seam with a proper product. All exposed metal will be getting self-etching primer. The screws are coming out. And rubberized undercoating will be covering everything, as it does on the car stock.

And if Mike is so right about the method of attachment, why aren't you ripping trent a new one for welding his on using the EXACT same welding method? There is NO REASON to do a full seam weld on this piece. He is the only person so far, across 3 forums (not that that counts for a WHOLE lot) and countless other people I've shown, besides you, that have said anything about doing a full seam weld.

Props for not giving up as you originally wanted to do, but don't go about doing this as a R3V method.... do it right or don't do it.

Your posts often convey a sense of arrogance coupled with ignorance and the refusal to listen to others who are more knowledgeable on some subjects than you.

I never saw photos of how trent fully attached his if I remember... I just saw his initial test fits and final product.

I "come down" on you because you have an outspoken arrogance/stance about your car. Don't take it wrong, I'm all for having a passion for your car... but you need to know where the line is between speaking passionately and just plain being obnoxious... one of the things so many people(yourself included on occasion) griped about RE: Jordan.

I appreciate the comments and compliments, and know that if I do come off that way sometimes about my car, I don't intend for it to be that way. However I will say that you're the only one I hear that from, but that's neither here nor there. Like I said, I don't intend to come off sounding that way, and if I do, I apologize to those it bothers. I don't harbor any delusions about my car, I know it's not the greatest out there. But it's pretty damn good. :D

-that being said, I do think it will look good, cause it is unique. The only real difference from an 88+ though is the tail lights, so pick which you would rather have.
