Does anyone have a pic of the rear side brackets that keep the ears of the rear bumper from drooping? I just picked up a set and I am not entirely sure of their position, I only have one hole in that area and it looks like I need two holes? I just want to be sure of their position before I start drilling holes, the part numbers of the brackets are:

    51-12-8-106-569
    51-12-8-106-570

How many times the trunk of an average e30 has been closed and opened?

How many of those times the lock got stuck?

What are the chances that lock gets stuck when the drunk owner is traveling in the trunk?

This has happened... It was not me, but I was the one who had to dremel the lock away :)

No. Read the whole thread. There is much more valuable information in the thread than can be put into just pics and steps.

Great project. Great thread. Enjoyed going thru all the 44 pages. Would be nice to see some done pictures of the ride in this thread's ending.

              Thanks.

So, now that this threads come back from a few years ago. Are you having any problems with your rear apron?

Only had an issue with the paint that I fixed last year. It was starting to bubble in few spots, and crackle in others. I also accidentally tore some of it off when I masked the car up for the drive to the Picnic the year before last, so I stripped the whole thing down to bare metal and re-applied undercoated and repainted it. I had previously applied the paint over the existing paint and undercoating, which is what I think caused the issues.

Josh you really should have some finished pics of this project. The ones from JParker (Edit: Jparkr. My bad.) just don't do it justice, and for someone reading through all 44 pages it's a little bit of a letdown at the end. But a great thread/project/DIY nonetheless. This is my third time through it...

yes, lack of finished pics is a real bummer. Nice work, I'll be doing the same to mine here very soon.

In a few weeks when it warms up, I am going to paint the upper section of the rear valence. The bottom will remain satin, as they were stock.
haha not hating, just noticed this and laughed. obviously as time went on this thread accumulated more information than originally imagined

I just read the whole thread because of this post. Most of the posts in this thread isn't even related to a facelift. Theres a whole damn page on your fucking 205/50 tires! I would understand if this was a general build thread, but c'mon...

Thanks for the valuable information and pictures but please supply a condensed version for future readers.

The most important part that I skimmed this tread for is not even here :( Josh if you read this in the next couple days or week, can you PLEASE post a photo showing the fit up of the bumper end, and wheel arch meeting point?

I was originally going to do Jordan's way using bondo to fill in the gaps and make it smooth, but I was thinking to myself that it was a stupid idea. It looks like sectioning the bumper (like you did) would work just as well. I am doing this conversion minus the 88+ rear valance, and I like your method better. Maybe my memory is not remembering things properly at the moment, but I don't recall a difference with the arch and bumper meeting point and it should work, right?
