Lazurblau Coupe - Vancouver, BC to LA, California

Been meaning to make a project post for a while with some of the photos I've taken over the time I've owned this car. Would also like a place to have this whole thing compiled and maybe motivate me to keep this thing updated and adding new content.

    Some back story:

Bought this car in 2014, $1800 from Craigslist in Vancouver. Older gentleman who was very kind, accidentally posted in Clothing & Articles instead of Cars and Trucks, which means no one really spotted it. I got lucky by seeing it a week later and being the first person to see it, and being able to talk the price down pretty easily from $2500. Started off as an automatic with the blue sports seats.

I saw the car in the middle of the night in the winter on a rainy day, which is a bad idea if you're taking a look at a car for the first time. But once I saw the color, I was instantly hooked. For those who haven't seen Lazurblau in person, try to. It's an absolutely beautiful color that shows itself truly in nice lighting. It's wow'd many people so far, and it gets me to this day.

I've moved from Vancouver to Los Angeles for work now that I'm done University, and have taken this thing with me. I've been in LA for the last year or so now.

So now onto the car, after owning it for a few weeks I quickly gathered up the parts for a 5-speed swap. I didn't know how to even drive manual, but I was adamant about having a 5-speed coupe e30. Seeing as I was able to get the chassis for lower than what I expected, I was able to justify spending the extra for parts in order to do the swap. Shout-out to Dustin from the BC Bimmers forums for giving a tremendous hand in being able to do the swap. Finished at 4 am in the morning and learned how to drive stick on the way home! What a blast that was, I'll never forgot those 20 minutes of pure joy granny-shifting it into 5th, blasting down the highway with no one around.

Some of the work done since getting the car:
-5 Speed Swap w/ new everything almost, CSB replaced after the old one broke (Lessons learned!)
-3.73 LSD Install w/ new seals
-New fuel filter, fuel pump, injectors
-Intake manifold gasket, oil return tube seals, valve adjustment
-Ignition Cap & Rotor, spark plugs, spark plug leads
-back to OEM Sport Exhaust (old one had holes), this one sounds really nice!
-Z3 2.7 L2L Steering Rack Swap (Shout-out to Ian on here for the help)
    -New brakes & rotors
-+Many small interior/exterior updates repairs for worn components

    On the to-do list:
-Swap my ACS's to OZ Ruotes once they are painted and on tires
    -GC Coils
    -Wheel bearings
    -Chassis/Suspension bushing refresh all around
-Replace & paint RH FR Fender
-Get, paint, and install iS side skirts
-Wet-sand, cut, and polish the hood, and trunk to get rid of some of the years of wear
    -Water-pump, timing belt replacement
-Replace door, trunk, and tail-lamp seals
    -Get some Ellipsoids
    -Fix fog-lights
    -Fix AC, HVAC
    -Fix Windshield wipers

    Future Dreams/Plans:
    -S54, 6-Speed Swap
    -Interior Reupholstered (White/Black Mix)

    Pics! Who doesn't Love pics:

The day after I took it home, in 2014. Rainy Vancouver as always, can you tell why I moved to Cali? ;)

After getting it from the paint shop from fixing a hit and run, which happened 3 days after finishing my 5speed swap :(

The day it arrived to California in 2017:

Staying at stock ride height still has it's benefits! For now...

I was still able to fit a pinky under there, so no harm done ;)
