Hahaha, coming from a strictly BMW background all 911 seats are 911 sport seats ;)
I was reading on the little black box and I curious about the code lockout. Nice to know that all i have to do is jump the pump.
I need to scrounge up a set of old trans mounts and I'm thinking of throwing the engine in. Maybe tomorrow. I discovered that it needs a new guibo, but that's not really a big surprise. I haven't split the trans and engine to see what I've got going on with the clutch and flywheel, I suppose I should probably do that.
Maybe a new clutch master too. I have a braided steel clutch line bouncing around somewhere that I could plumb in as well.
Working beneath a tree in the middle of winter has turned me into a bit of a bitch as far as progress goes.Hank Ahrens

As I'm stripping parts out of this car, let me know if you see anything you need.
All the bits on the interior side of the cruise control, plus the oem antenna wire.

Also, who the hell really uses subsonic 22 ammunition anymore?
Note the rapala in the background, damn hicks lol.

Spent 40 bucks on stainless hardware at ace. By the end of December, I want the engine in, driveshaft mounted, the door panels mounted, a gutted dash back in, and my alpina replica dead pedal in, at a minimum.
I didn't realize garagistic would wait until their shifters come out in January to ship my 800 dollar black friday order, so that'll be the main holdup.
For the fuel pump lockout;

Holy shit. WOW.
Huge difference in price, that should safe me quite a bit of money. I've been buying bulk off amazon where I can, but bolt depot seems like a way better deal. Thanks for the recommendation!Hank Ahrens

I though I would have way more time to work on this car over Christmas break. I really did lol.
Anyhow. In my free time I've begun to thin out the body harness and fiddle with the interior a bit.
I slapped some condor motorsports door cars on.
Notes:
Start with a backdoor card first, it was kind of a pita to line up the little holes with the rivnuts.
I used stainless m5 hardware and alu rivnuts.
It seems like it should hold together welp.
I cleaned the doors up with paint thinner first, this is absolutely necessary.
I hope sometime in the future I can shave all the hole on the interior side of the doors, I guess we'll see.
Gonna throw pics up when I get back home.
I also detailed my 4runner, I think I can sell it for quite a bit. Maybe 12k even. It seems like 3rd gen 4runners are appreciating in value, which is pretty nice. Pretty sure I'll look for a wrx or a forester for a dd, and sink the extra cash into this project.
Cheers, Merry ChristmasHank Ahrens

I'll be sure to check that out as well.
I got caught up on vacation during the end of my winter break, but I gave the car a little attention yesterday.
This is how the Condor door panels look, I definitely like them!

I also decided to get busy with throwing the engine back in, I was tired of watching it sit in the elements. And judging by what I found in the bell housing, I think I waited too long. It sucks being 21 without a garage for projects.
Anyhow, I cleaned it out as best i could and bolted it back together. I also added a little bit of mm oil into the valves to try cleaning them out a bit, I'll flush it out before the first start. With the transmission off I was able to turn the motor over by hand, it feels very smooth.
Then, I did a whole bunch of sketchy shit because I don't have a load leveler, and sliced a finger open as a result.

With the engine safely secured both fore and aft, I wasn't able to drop it in at enough of an angle to have the tranny clear the subframe. So, disheartened, I dropped the engine to the ground and started thinking. I decided to secure it ONLY at the front, and hope for the best.
Immediately I found that the transmission output shaft wont clear the core support, so I attempted to heft it over. This actually worked, but I managed to pinch my finger between the transmission and the hood shock metal arm thing. I wasn't wearing gloves, so I have now put time, money, and blood into this e30. I'm certain tears will follow shortly.
Ta Da, I can do shit with redneck ingenuity

I got it into place using a floor jack below the tranny and a broomstick on the engine to get my angles correct. With the motor mounts secured from below, it was a pretty quick job.

It's awesome to see it sitting on my mtechnicas, and with a set of euro bumps and an Alpina valance, it'll be a good looking little car. I need to sell my 4runner so I can throw some more cash into it.
So my 911......
Probably wasn't the smartest purchase but oh well. I was taking the door cards off today and found a nice little surprise in the driver side door. I never would have checked here ugh.

But god damn, does it look nice sitting there

And a pic of my 4runner, just for good measure. I definitely have the most interesting cars on the block, but there's an NSX two streets over.

Also you may have noticed the PEAK! coolant in the first pic, that's a remnant of the previous tenants, i was using the bottle to rest the transmission on. Don't want anyone getting that confused haha, only BMW blue for me.Hank Ahrens

Sure was a good car. Still my favorite e30 I've owned. I keep playing this little fantasy in my head where it ends up back at my house. Some way or another.
The new owner apparently had a minor collision in it :(Hank Ahrens

I managed to pick this up for 1500 bucks yesterday. 5 speed manual, 130k miles, clean title, second owner, and all service records. I feel kinda bad haha, I was buying it from an old guy and he said he received a few offers for over his asking price when I came and picked it up last night after putting a deposit down in the morning. I do wish it was an aero, and I'll get one eventually, but 1500 was too good of a deal to pass up.
The interior is way nicer than a comparable subie, it's actually nice to drive. Go Saab. This also means that I can now get rid of my 4runner. Can't wait to put more funds into this e30.Hank Ahrens
