    m20b25 turbo quetions

mods delete if this is the wrong place

for those of you running a turbo m20 what were some of the things you wish you'd done differently?

did you go with a kit from someone like KA motors or did you fab your own?

is the ms2 pnp the most popular of the aftermarket ecu's for tuning?

    shooting for about 350-400whp

    thanks in advance!

for reference I have a 325i sedan and a 325is both looking to undergo the turbo treatment but wanted to get some more information before making a final decision

Wish I'd done differently: Go Megasquirt from the start.

      Pieced together own parts.

Yeah, MS is one of the most popular because it gets the job done and there is a lot of support for it online on the forums if you need troubleshooting.

350whp is an attainable/realistic goal with the stock m20.

do you think getting a megasquirt first and learning to tune with the stock m20 would be a good or bad idea?

A great idea. You're less likely to hurt the NA motor from bad inputs than one engulfing X amount of pressure over atmosphere.
Also easier to trouble-shoot by taking all the F/I stuff out of the equation.

Nothing changes hardware wise when going turbo from NA except maybe the IAT sensor placement for MS.

Do this...And if you are keeping the m20, there are plug and play units, so it becomes even easier.
