    Blackmamba1's Project E30 Build Thread 56k Grab a snickers

I picked up this 1985 318i back in January from a guy who own a paint shop in VA. It wasn't in good shape but it ran. I started working on it the day I brought it home.

Pics when I picked it up:

The month of Janurary I installed:

    Dash
    Steering wheel
    Center console
Rear Shocks (There were no shocks on the rear (Kinda Scary))
    Hood latch
    Glove Box
    New Passenger rear window
Intake (The was no airbox when I got it)
    Tune Up
    Oil Change
    Basket Weave Wheels
    Tail Lights
    Trunk Gasket
    Front Windshield Gasket
    Sunroof Crank
    VDO Gauge Cluster
    4 Way Flasher button
    New HVAC Panel
Exhaust Mount (It was hanging on by speaker wire)
    New black racing seats
    Harnesses
    Clutch Kit
    Thermostat
    Hoses
    Belts
    H&R Sport Springs
    Front Shocks
    Door Panels
    Rear Parcel Shelf
    Black Grills

Since January I have been going back and forth with what I wanted to do with it. I purchase bavauto headers and a new exhaust for it but I decided after it was installed that the only way I am going to get power out of it was to do a swap.

Special Thanks to VR4boy for all of the help with the swap!

I have also completed the following:

Swapped Rear Diff to 4.10 LSD
      Added Stahl long tube headers
      Added Bav auto Chip
      Installed racing seats with harnesses
      re carpeted the interior
      all new door panels
      new driver side fender
Added alpine head unit and speakers
      installed b&m short shifter
      added carbon fiber hood

      Pics of the swap:

Looks sweet! I am trying to find a cheap 318i or 325e to fix up this winter as well... It seems like you have done a ton of work to clean it up!

Looks good. Glad to see the update to M20 power! How's the B&M short shifter? And how do you like that shift knob? I'm considering the same one for my car.

The B&M is great. Its nice and short. The shift knob is great but I wish it had a little more weight to it. But it feels perfect.
