I struggle to see the logic behind giving any female a Hummer, or a 4x4 for that matter. :p They are the greatest peril on the roads today.Leave a comment:

The only thing is, this tube will put a concentrated stress on the side of a piece of sheet metal. the plate will distribute this stress over more of the tower, reducing the pressure and greatly reducing the probability of collapsing the shock tower. The cars I worked on this summer had the plate on top of the mount as well as along the side, and it was 1/4" thick. Heavy, yes, but the whole point is strength and safety.
Edit: another pic:

I do agree with you, but what my and my friend where thinking is that strut tower will act like a plate itself. I may reinforce the otherside with a very large plate. But for right now im gonna leave it how it is.This looks promising!!! Can't wait to see more !
This isn't done yet right - http://www.e-owned.com/albums/userpi...l_ERC_9675.JPG?
Shouldn't there be a 'plate' welded to the tower surface ?
In the future i plan on running full rear coilovers and they will have sheet metal mounts taht go directly into the cageLeave a comment:

Are you adding any extra material to the rear shock towers to support the members that tie into them?
