Have you looked into having the covers laser etched? Would be easier than some printing styles I'm sure. Guy I used to work with bought a laser tool and he's done everything from crackers at a board meeting to leather/wood/metal, etc.. Most popular is the clear polycarb type awards that are etched on the back and come thru white.

Ooooooh. I know. Its a sonar indicator. You place the censor in your oil cooler grill area and the leds tell you how close you get before you take out your is lip.

          Think....more practical.

But could you do a shift light at some point? There seems to be enough interest for it to be profitable.

Something more practical that our cars don't already have would be an Oil temp or Voltage meter.

Or could it be a better/cooler oil pressure light?

hoping that it's a gauge, and it would be nice to offer it for customer-specified gauge senders (VDO!)

Honestly, if I wanted a shift light, I wouldn't want it in the service indicator area. If I were to have a shift light, it would be E46 M3 style. The red of the tach.

Knight Rider lights that go back and forth !?

Seriously though, what is it going to be?

                      Hi George,

Oil pressure or volt meter would be nice. I would like most anything that removes this existing annoying function that I never use. Another nice modification, for a future project, would be changing the fuel economy gauge to something useful but that might be a more difficult undertaking.

                      Cheers,

                      Jim

Did some more testing tonight - I'm going to make a third revision. It's going to be a few more days - sorry. It's all part of the process.
