Yeah, I was reluctant to paint it but I just couldn't get into the tighter parts with the wire wheel. I agree that powdercoating would probably be the best way, but paint was only $10 :).

Your engine isn't looking too shabby either!

I see... Let us know how it holds up on the hotter parts. I think I'm gonna soda blast my stuff or powder coat it all black, cast aluminum parts just don't stay super clean.

The intake, t-stat housing and oil dick-thing were painted with Duplicolor metal flakes; the timing covers and pan were just wire wheeled.

What did you use to clean the aluminum on the motor? Looks clean...

A have a few small updates.

Got my driveshaft situation under control. The one from my e28 was too long, and I was having no luck finding one from an 87e, so I decided to get the e28 one shortened. I was expecting to have to pay out the ass, but it was only $90! I still need a shifter support and csb before I put it in though.

I had the mechanic from our marina come over this morning to help me with the wiring. Between him, Mike and my Dad, I think we have it figured out. I just need to finish up soldering up a few wires before I can start it. Woo!

And my new wheels got here today! I felt I would have a need for more traction, think these will work?

(once again, please excuse the grainy pics and dirty/rusty/moldy car)

The color is mauritiusblau, there is a lot more metallic in the light. It may be done for Wednesday night.

    $230?

Finally a nice update. Looking good. Is that the blue color we talked about? Can't wait to see this thing and get a ride in a m30 I mean who knows sometimes things like that wear off if you catch my tokyo drift lol.

As per rules say LOWER IT!!! Wheel Gap is not the new pink so its no fad.
