Got the block all cleaned up and painted today. It makes it look like a brand new engine.


In primer:




Painted. It's low gloss black, but it looks kind of grey in the pics:




Did the valve cover in wrinkle black, I still need to go over the ribs with a block to get them shinier

My parts from bav should be here either tomorrow or Tuesday, then I can start reassembling the engine.

Back to the original project, I went through a few wire wheels cleaning the m30 block today, and its still not ready for paint. I'll be working on it all weekend though so there should be some actual progress by next week.

Sure did, its not in too bad of shape for $500. It definitely isn't dschwarz anymore, though.

Yep. It's out and on a stand. I won't be around this weekend, but any time after that you're more than welcome to get at it.
