Yeah, I thought that was funny too. I was trying to tell them they could look but not too close, don't breathe that stuff. So they immediately go over an "look" as close as possible. ; )
The car currently has cats (the VSR center) but for the rebuild I will run a straight pipe all the way back to some TBD muffler. I will do a merge so it's a single pipe vs the stock dual pipe set up.

The shifter rules. If you have at least hard urethane mounts this is THE shifter to have bar none. I have used several other shifters including stock upgrade parts and they are all good in various ways, some better than others. But for a pure race/track car part, this is it, there is nothing better save what you might get with a real race transmission.
Everyone always goes for a short throw...personally I'm terribly fond of a shorter throw but rather a throw that is solid and allows for positive gear changes quickly. No matter how good it is no stock replacement type kit will be this good because they still use many of the stock parts which introduce looseness in the system. The DTM kit removes the carrier entirely, the only remaining wear item is the shift rod joint...and really in there the wear item is tension bushings, the little rubber spongy thing.
This is as good as it gets. Plus the lever is taller so while the throw is shorter than stock the tall lever doesn't make it feel super short which, personally, I very much dislike. I was actually thinking of asking them to make me a slightly taller shift knob for even a bit more height.

Many of these are pretty dated and a lot of mine are in my first JS car. The ones of Simon are actually all in the car that I now own and is featured in this thread, we built him a SpecE30 car last year.

Well, I was going to let the cage fabricator do that since he's pretty well versed in it and I'm not really interested in being versed in it. But I dunno, we'll see. I looks like you guys drilled out all the spot welds and everything eh? I figured the fabricator would remove as much as possible without drilling...basically cutting all around. Honestly, I've not spent much time thinking about it though.
And frankly a few holes from drilling won't really matter, the whole car is getting painted anyway.

Ok, last batch of the ones that I have. I'm hoping to hit it again this weekend. Time for mechanicals and wiring to come out...ugh.
And: "I'm the king of the world!!!"
Ok, I think that's it til this weekend. Cheers.Comment
