Ok So I Found A 1988 535i TO TRANSPLANT ITS 3.5 INTO MY E30 Still Runs Smooth Doesn't Smoke, 5 Speed Trans...paid The Guy 700 Euros Drove It Down To The Shop And I Finally Get To Start On The Swap Tomorrow....:d Can't Wait To Pull The Motor And Tranny And Get To Work....gotta Love The Germans.....they Think Anything Old Is Junk.....damn Shame To Let This Drivetrain Sit Unused .....hehe

ok pics of donor car this is a 1988 535i both cars are Euro spec....for now......update.......12 jun 08.........ok well this motor is ready to be pulled tomorrow....just have to disconnect one of the slave cylinder hydraulic line, motronic and wiring harness are pulled from the body....so tomorrow i'll pull it and start to clean it....this weekend i'll pull the head and send it to the shop for port and polish, new valve train and to decide on a cam.

status: getting there
ok now it's friday 13 jun 08 motor and tranny are pulled obc and wiring harness are out downpipes are cut and car is back out of the shop.....i'll start the cleaning probably monday...due to german law i have to take it to the local oil change place to have it steam cleaned versus cleaning in the shop....how gay is that well here's a couple pics from this morning....

Ok Well As Luck Would Have After Looking For 7 Mos For The Right Priced 535i Donor Car 1 Week After Buying The Donor I And 2 Days After Pulling The Drivetrain I Get A Call From Someone Who Has Already Done This Swap And Got Hit In The Rear!!!!!!! Oh Fortune How You Mock Me. Anyway So Tomorrow I Pick Up His Drivetrain....mounting Brackets And Driveshaft Included For 300 Euros.....:d So I Might Be Rocketing Around This Weekend Cant Wait! ok sorry no pics today but i'll have some tomorrow.....hit a snag today...had to massage the firewall a bit to clear the head....just incase also did the area closest to the exhaust so the old 2.0 is out and the body is ready for the transplant....if the shop didn't close at five i would be just about finished but oh well....i'll get started tomorrow at 0930 and i'll be hustling to try to be done shortly after noon so maybe all pics tomorrowComment
