Probably those gaskets, I heard they can cause hard starting.
And if you don't buy that, I'd check out your fuel pump.Leave a comment:

:hitler: WTF!!! My car won't start! :hitler:
The lights all work in the car and what not, but the car won't even turn over at all. All I hear is sorta an electrical noise I guess and maybe the fuel pump? Any help?
I check my intake filter to see if it was dirty yesterday but I put everything back the way it was. I also Removed my rear deck speakers and they put them back....this blows cause I just got one of my Recaro seats bolted down and was looked to drive it around. I haven't driven it for about 2 weeks but I have started it a few times. The last start up was about a week ago.
The quality seems to be ok. Will see how they hold up. The only thing that could go wrong is that the hood shutting might pull the adhesive off overtime. Definitely look really good though.Leave a comment:

Ummm the DC Corleone or whatever his name is? He's an official site something or other. They're Chinese made ones, he used to have USA ones.Leave a comment:

I installed E30 M3 style hood and trunk gaskets (or whatever they're called). They look great and should keep pine needles out. Hopefully they'll hold up to the elements and wear.Leave a comment:

Thanks buddy! I regretted it at times but I'm glad its over. I feel it brought up the value and presence of my car.
Today I painted the headlight surrounds black after giving them a good wash. There was so much sand and dirt pack around the headlights.
and regarding the spark plugs; my car is an 86' 325eLeave a comment:

I use good old Bosch Supers w8lcr I think.
EDIT: I have a 325i though. I think, depending on the year of you car, you will need wr9ls.Leave a comment:

Congrats on your first dash swap ;) Way worth the trouble to have a clean dash.Leave a comment:

Yeah and its basically the first job I've ever done no an E30....good place to start huh? Anyone know what spark plugs people on here like to use in the a 325e? I've searched by the way. Things don't seem to come up as easily when I search for them on here as they do on some other forums I've used. Maybe its the titles people give threads or something.Leave a comment:

I don't envy you. A dashboard swap is one job I really never want to do....well, that's really about the only thing I have never done on an e30. I'll have to go to the newsstand and pic up that mag, looks interesting.Leave a comment:

Ok so I finally finished my dash install. All in all it turned out quite well, but the stereo doesn't work now :( (I couldn't get these two plugs to well...plug back in. Anyone have a pic of the back of OEM stereo?). I also found an amp in my trunk. Is it OEM or aftermarket? I'm thinking aftermarket. I also have a fabulous Ungo alarm that I want to yank, however I fear that it will cause some sort of problems if I do; am I wrong to assume this? Lastly, I have some shots of my editorial in this months issue of S3Magazine (www.s3mag.com ;)). Now onto the pics!!!! :nice:

The baller status amp!

Ungo Alarm; period correct no?

My baggies for labeling and sorting fasteners, screws and such:

I used this stolen Uhaul packing blanket to make it more comfortable while swapping the dash. Definitely advise some variation of this:

Me feeling good about progress...yeah the removal always goes smoother ;)

I'd sit on the back seat occaisonally to look at the directions, quench my thirst and stretch my legs (I can't image doing this if you're tall or have large hands. I'm a little over 5'9"):

The old dash! purty :nice:

Pissed at the dash. It was around 10:30pm and I was working in the driveway with a floodlight.....shitty:

Here's the inside of the alarm. Looks like it was a pretty nice alarm with the mercury filled tubes and such:

I need to take some new shots of it installed. Its glorious...well not really but it is crack free......sorta. There is a tiny one hidden from view. What can I do to keep it from progressing?Leave a comment:
