Sounds like you're making excellent progress! Get your son involved in the progress, if he has some stock in the car and put some blood/sweat/tears in to building it, he's likely to appreciate it more and be more careful with it (ask me how I know) :)

I wanted to mod this car but not a total racer car. I have always liked Bilstiens so I started to shop arond for a set. I dont actually remeber without looking at the invoice where I got them from but I think I payed 350ish for the set. I wanted Eibach springs as after some research I found that they did Vert spec springs that dropped the car 1.9" at the front and 1.6" in the rear. I had to order them and wait for them to arrive.

While I was waitin I finished the arches and got going with the brakes. I got back on the phone to BMW and ordered

        Rotors
        pads
        sensors
        front and rear.

I then painted the dust shields back black and took the calipers off and apart. I drained all of the fluid from them and gave them a good cleaning and checked them over to make sure that there was no stuck pistions. They worked well so I gave them the good news with some high heat tough silver paint. I think they turned out very well and look great when compared to what they were like when they came off.

I started the suspension build-up when my shocks and springs arrived. Everything that came off was shagged and fit for the trash. It all went together smoothly, I took the extra step and removed the sway bar, painting it and shooting the sway bar brackets with the same paint that I used on the calipers. It took me a couple of days messing around painting and cleaning before I bolted them back together.

Very nice work. My first car was/is also an e30, and I love it. Get your son involved so he can learn about it too. I did the opposite; I'm teaching my dad how to do everything ;)

Swap in a M10 to keep him outta trouble. Then you just have to pray that he never finds his way into Good & Tight's threads.

Kidding aside, that's a clean vert you got there, I hope your son takes care of it.
