the first couple months of this year have been pretty stressful. got through them and came out on top and decided to reward myself for it with some of the money that i've saved by no longer dating a high-maintenance girl.

Greg (M-Technik-3) said it would stiffen the car up, but i was still surprised... cowl shake is gone and this thing finally handles like it should.

'vert guys, if you ever run across one, do what you have to do to pull the fucking trigger on it. seriously.

Nice job, DK. I fucking love that hardtop. I'm in the process of doing a budget build on my 92 M42 cabby. I hope to have it on the road within a month......

jeff: got a thread for it yet?

from what i've read, only about 2000 M42 verts got sent to the states but it seems i've been seeing more of them on the forums lately... another user had a green one with gold wheels recently, he did a classy job on his as well.

DK- No thread yet, I don't think it's worthy. The car itself is Mauritiusblau Metallik, has about 155K on it, chipped, 4.27 open diff, M-short throw, Eibach Pro Street kit, 17s, nearly mint sport natur interior. It's been sitting for about 6 years off the road following the PO curb to the oil pan shot. Funny thing is, I bought it two years ago, with no money to do anything with it. I tinkered around a little bit and got that shit running with nothing more than a battery charge. As I probed more, I realized it leaked lots of oil and coolant, it needed control arm/tie rod/sway bar links so the fun began. So I found a second job this year to fund it. I'll be doing the A/C delete, fan clutch delete, new gaskets, water pipe, "mess under the intake" delete, etc. Even when it ran like shit, it still layed good rubber. A pic as it sits this second:

when i got this car it ran and barely drove... *everything* in the suspension/brakes was shot and it's amazing that my ex was able to drive it the ~30mi back home (i was at fort mccoy in wisconsin, about to leave for iraq).

anyway if whatt18yahoo's e34 fail parade gets a thread, i then i think that car deserves to have its story told also. just sayin'. :D

i am. switching from reserves to active after this quarter because VA is screwing me on GI bill benefits and trying to live on $1260/mo in los angeles is not my idea of fun. that's the only reason i could rationalize the hit to the bank account of buying the hardtop... i only need enough money to pay rent and buy food, gas, and beer until july, and i had the wiggle room.

i hope your nephew is as bored as i was (most of the time). how much longer does he have in-country?

i am fucking livid right now. i could kill someone.

yes, i know it needs a fucking bath, i've been busy with school.

right now i'm questioning why i've dumped fifteen grand into this goddamned car just to have an idiot neighbor back into it with his pickup truck. i could be driving a 20-year-old civic with a K swap and i wouldn't be having as much fun as i've had in this e30, but on the other hand i wouldn't be wanting to punch a hole in the wall of my house either.

                          FUCK.
