quick post tonight. Got my birthday/christmas gift from my sister. AKG mono-wiper conversion kit. I foresee much cool after much screaming, cursing and scraped knuckles when installing. I'll try and snap some pictures later this week.
Thanks sis. I hope to unwrap some more tasty e30 bits in a few days!
That's an awesome sister. I so badly want a mono wiper.
I can't believe you picked up that E21! A couple of us local guys checked it out too. If you are interested in obtaining euro bumpers for that, give me a shout. A friend has two 323's and I know he wants to sell the one with body rot.
I sent you a PM. I hope you make it to the next meeting. Nice build thread, I hope to see it when you get done.

Pm'd you back Doug. I'm probably going to go ahead and do the carb swap soon on the E21 just so I can get familiar with tuning it before doing a performance buildup. It's a pretty good car just with some small issues. Luckily it's manageable. My wife is interested in the euro bumpers but not another parts car! ;) Let me know and I'll pass it on to her. The only thing she's letting me pick out is the carb swap!
Some car parts for the 318 should be here soon. It's been a good christmas. I'll post pictures when they all show up.
Hey man So how well do those ebay headers fit? Do you have to do some bending or do they slide right in?
They fit ok I guess. I clearanced the motor mount a bit to get them to fit. I still need to shim the mount a bit to get the headers to clear the front crossmember but it won't be much. The ends hang down a little more than I want but I'm hoping the exhaust shop will be able to do something about it.
But I prefer them to the OBD2 manifolds I had. I'm hoping the wrap will dampen some of the resonance and reduce rasp. I guess I'll find out soon.
Nice project you have going here. TwoThrees pointed me to your thread. Im in Mobile and am about to do a 24v swap as well. Hope to see you at the club meeting this month if you can make it.

He may sell the bumpers off one or he has an extra rear bumper he would sell.
So I am currently in Hamburg, it's nighttime and snowing. It's quite pretty actually except for the fact I've been in my hotel room all day stoned out of my mind with cough syrup! Luckily I feel better and will actually make it into work tomorrow.
But the real reason I'm posting tonight is that a significant update has been made to the car but sadly I could not attend as I was on an airplane somewhere over the atlantic ocean. That's right ladies and gentlemen, the 318 has been painted.
Here are the first batch of pictures my father was kind enough to send me. Another set is due soon (hopefully tomorrow) but they should get you excited. These pictures also mean that the car will soon be coming home. I have one more trip out to the barn to put it back together and then in march, it will reside in my garage once again.
How about some pictures?
Redid some of the texture along the bottom sills.
All taped up...
soon my pretty...
how 'bout some paint?
It's much better than it was and will be hidden behind the bumper anyways.
the hood makes me feel funny...
for some reason I really like this picture.
The final tally was 1 coat of primer, two of color and two of clear. That's about 1 and a half gallons of clear so wet sanding will go great. Dad seems to think this will look like his 911 so if that's the case, i will more than pleased.
I got a ton of cool christmas gifts but I have no pictures of them. I'll try and get some posted later this month because the car is really turning out better than i expected.
