I broke a rib skiing... coughing sucked.

Anyway, progress (though slow) looks good. Love the build.

awesome and inspiring build. I plan on doing a inor version of the same thing and this'll be EXTREMELY helpful.

Just read through the entire build thread. I'm really impressed, the car looks amazing and you have inspired me to make mine as nice as this someday.

So I haz some pictars but be forewarned, they are terrible. The ole garage camera seems to be slowly dying so there are some focus issues.

The front passenger fender and the trunk lid have been repainted. Likewise, the brake ducts, is skirts and spoiler insert have been painted as well and I will be picking them up this weekend from the barn.

While I was waiting, I thought I would cleanup the wheel wells that got hit with overspray. Try as I might, the white wasn't coming off so I decided to touchup the strut and undercoat the wheel well.

quite a difference. I also touched up the strut housing as well.

                and then reassembled.

But Josh, why all that work and you leave the overspray on the sway bar. Excellent question. If you see the bushings you can tell they need replacing so when I do that, I will clean up the bar.

I decided to clean up the back as well.

cleaned up the rust on the rotor and painted it for protection. I think it looks much better.

I had some Krylon fusion so I decided to clean up the damper shroud and make it look nicer.

The shock mount was annodized but got hit by overspray. Sadly any attempt I made to remove the overspray also removed the annodizing. So I elected to leave it a brushed aluminum.

So one side of the car is finished and this week I'll work on the other. I haven't figured out what I want to do about the rear brakes. The calipers are flaking and given the issues I've had, I've considered getting some different ones. Time will tell. I really want this car back on the ground.

                oh, and I got these:

Luckily I was there when I had my car sprayed and I blocked off the wheelwells myself to prevent the dreaded overspray, (mild OCD is sometimes a benefit) as I had a freshly degreaseed, painted and undercoated car. It's tedious work and my car will probably never see a single rain day again, but it looks like new and it's nice to know it's protected.

UGH I know right. The engine is already back in his car. The exterior of this car will be finished this month, I am going to make it happen come hell or high water. Likewise, I will drive this thing to work in December.

At least the garage is finally habitable...

Jackbenny, you sir have taken a good majority of two days at work to read every entire post and check your photos! All of course was not in one entire sitting, but spread out through the day, having it as something to read while still surfing r3v & the web.

I love your attention to detail and making sure to do everything right the first time to save your self from hassle later! Great choice on color, and the wheels with the covers are going to be sweet!

This is making me want to do more work to my e30!

You both flatter me but the car is far from perfect. Perfect is xworks' m3 in the body and paint section. He has many ideas I'd love to steal.

Work is killing me during the day so all I've been doing when I get home is play with the kid and do some Forza 4. I need to get some motiviation going and the painted parts should do that.
