Just made it home. Here's a picture for tonight:

As it sat before I left. With a turbo M30 e34 sitting below it tonight.... :D
Fun approaches.
Only gay thing is that in a race track with Indy cars, drift cars suddenly need exhausts. Go f*cking figure. How I'm making an exhaust in these 3 days is beyond me.
Suggestions welcome. I might just rob a bank.

I did say reasonable ;)
$100 for gold weaves in good (not great) shape with Falken Ziex 912s in very good condition is just not very reasonable :p And I say $100 because your offer will make me take a $100 hit to send these your way.

Making some nice progress man!
My offer still stands on the wheels. :)Leave a comment:

yes, but the m30 will be boosted eventually, which will raise up the weight. And I've always wanted stiffer suspension instead of this daily driving set up that I have been rocking for agesLeave a comment:

Do you think the weight difference will be that apparent? I would think it would weigh just about the same as your turbo m20 did- m30's are only about 50lbs heavier than an m20.Leave a comment:

I am driving on Friday morning and Sunday at noon if the schedule remains the same as last year.
Since I am stuck in west palm without a ride home right now.. Quick update with today accomplishments:
Got the car trailered to Ter-tech
Returned rental truck
Fixed subframe
Installed Ss lines in the rear
Almost done hooking up ebrake cables
Changed pedal boxes
Pulled m20 + autotragic tranny out (fuck those things by the way)
Finished the vynil work
Cleaned the interior
Reorganized dash harness
So tomorrow is time to drop the m30 in to mock up the engine mounts. Hopefully tomorrow I can also pit the dash back in, finish putting the cage in, and finish the work on my rear end.
Also ordered new spring rates to allow for the heavier m30. Thanks to Jay, Mark and John at GC- for spending almost the entire day with to figure out the ideal suspension.
That's all... Now I gotta find my way home.

The new car looks dope. Why are you abandoning the 4 door? Doesn't it have a cage? What day are you driving at the st. pete gp? I might make it over there. Good luck!Leave a comment:

Just finished taking a shower before knocking the fuck out.
I left 2 pics sending to my Gmail so I could upload for tonight. One of the 16x10s on stock fenders (lol moment) and some of the vynil work.

D-DAY MINUS 4: Slow progress is better than no progress...
Alright, so today was something that was supposed to be simple, but ended in a painful headache. I'm massively exhausted, have some new pics on my camera phone but I don't have the cable... and I'm not waiting to e-mail then host them one by one.... so soon.
Thanks to Hayden once again for showing up and helping out!!
The main problem today was lining up the subframe. We got it perfect on the first try, but had to drop it to put the washers in place and we never got it back right ever since. To add fuel to the fire, we started getting pressure to get done as fast as we could and that didn't work well with anyone.
We're now missing bolts like there's no tomorrow, I still have to hook up the ENTIRE rear end (put in all the brake lines, ebrake cables, etc etc etc), sway bars, + a bunch of other cool stuff that was gladly left behind as I was pressured to roll my car out of the shop.
In a shitty atmosphere we just slapped the car back together (with a misaligned subframe, but just enough to thread in the nut on the side that didn't align), and we got out of there. I'm hoping that all the bumps on the road while the car sat on the trailer moved the subframe enough to line up.... will have to report back on this tomorrow when there's light.
From the shop I took the car to Drift Sessions to get the vynil done.... again, rush job really doesn't help here. The vynil is on the car.... but I've seen better jobs. But in the end, it'll get the job done well enough.
I gotta wake up tomorrow morning to take the car to Ter-Tech for the motor swap and the truck/trailer need to be returned by noon. So I got a lot of work to do tomorrow morning.
While Ter-Tech will hopefully start working on my car right away, I will get chop chop on the interior. I hope that by the end of Monday I can get the whole interior sorted out (5spd swap, put dash back in, plug everything in.
For anyone thinking this is stressful and exhausting, it really is.
Now with some pieces missing from rushing too much crap, I will have to call GC tomorrow and place a 2-Day shipping (or maybe even overnight it) order. Horray for making Fedex/UPS richer on the account of last minute shit. But can't say I didn't see it coming.
