I put a big washer over the hole so the bolt can’t pull through again. It was infuriating having the door slam closed on me while I was working on the interior. Door stays open on its own now! 
Grabbed a couple things for the doors 
Both doors are totally complete which is a relief. Interior is really looking like an interior. Super excited to get this all wrapped up so I can start on the mechanical stuff. Also this last weekend I attended renntober fest in big bear. Some tidy e30s there! Even had an e30 house haha 
Grabbed another one of these because it doesn’t have the little holes in it for heated seats 
Actually looking like an interior! Got all the missing pieces for the hvac panel and got the euro clock in. 
She got me hooked up with an almost complete tool kit 
She gave me both ash trays (although I forgot to take a pic of the other one lol) As well as this center console 
Still need to put that passenger door panel in, but this thing is almost looking like an interior lol 
She also had this super mint under dash panel for me. Pretty hyped about it, even has the sound deadening. 
She gave me a couple other little odds and ends I didn’t get pictures of today but overall I’m super happy with the interior progress. Still looking for a glovebox and the door sill trim that goes over the carpet, but in time it’ll happen. While I was visiting we were discussing the recent hype on these cars with rappers and clout chasers. Later on in the trip, my girlfriend and I made our way to Monterey. During our visit we stumbled across this random hype beast store and you’ll never guess what was sitting in the middle of it 😒 
Also, not going to be making it into this car, but I’ve been really wanting to get into reupholstering steering wheels. I collect them and want to stop passing up on rare wheels just because of bad leather condition. I picked up this absolutely disgusting nardi for 20 bucks. Leather was already stripped off and the center was painted glitter pink. 
Definitely not perfect but pretty pleased for my first go. Probably going redo it as I’ve learned a lot already but yeah, some of you may or may not care lol
After much time spent using purple power and the pressure washer. Looks a whole lot better. Still mad about the cuts tho lol 
Ended up grabbing the seat back that I was missing from Facebook. It’s leather, but when I got there I realized it was the tan from a late model and doesn’t match. But i figured it was better than no rear seat back for the time being. Also got the rear door cards, and the strange black leather rear deck lid in. Again, I’m hoping to find a proper tan rear deck lid, but for now, this will do. 
Realized this clip was missing from the door and I couldn’t screw the arm rest in the door panel in while installing. Grabbed this random clip from a Nissan at the junkyard and it worked fine.

And then the carpet 
Seat followed. Starting to look like an interior! 
Pass interior door handle was broken. Needed to replace that before I could get the other door panel in. New one came in from eBay. 
Grabbed a roof rack from a buddy. 
This wooden shifter came up cheap and I thought it would look good refinished. I plan on lacquering it and throwing a new bmw emblem on it. Just waiting for the emblem to come in before I can. 
Momo hub arrived. 
It’s still very incomplete, obviously, but it’s starting to look a lot better! At least it’s no longer completely gutted hey? 
Started trying to tackle the absolute mess that is the interior. The smell of varnished gas and rat excrement is absolutely unbearable. And my god, the amount of spider webs and eggs. So unsettling. 
After lots of time spent a vacuum and all purpose degreaser. 
Got to love rats. Going to resolder and heat shrink these wires next week. Will also wrap them in an oem style friction tape. 
Started laying down sound deadening and whatnot. 
Ended up sourcing tan carpet from two separate people on Facebook. Rear piece showed up first. A little crusty but not too bad. 
Cleaned it up and threw it in. Still wet here lol. Also started getting the rear seat belts in. Missing the single clip and lap belt if anyone has those laying around!
