New addition to the family. volvo content

Well after my sister rolled our exploder we have been battling insurance trying to get the most out of it. We were going to buy it back, beat the roof out, and send her on her way, because she is retardedly accident prone. But the buyback was too high and was wasn't worth my time to fix the car up enough to get it back on the road.

So I went out and picked up this little champ for $850 last night. 1992 Volvo 960. The car is actually in pretty damn good condition, has a few problems I need to fix but nothing too major, a good cleaning and a little wax would go a LONG way as far as appearances go.

Hopefully this tank of a car can take some abuse, as I'm sure it will.

    Dirty dirty insides

Odometer is busted, anyone know where I can get new gears?

Yup, its an autotragic, at least it has auto climate! lol

    Heated seats bishes

    Rear seat

Would you like an arm rest sir or mam?

Or would you like to secure a small child! With volvo, you have fucking options!

    Sunroof FTW

201 hp of 2.9 I6 Fury under the hood

It even has the correct amount of valves!

    /end

I will post pics once I get her cleaned up and fixed, should look a ton better.

Only thing to do, if I remember correctly from doing one of them, to the odometer is change out the speedo.
What condition is the timing belt in? If it has been a while, change it PRONTO.

I was afraid of that, odometergears.com or whatever didn't list anything for the 960, and looking on ebay all I saw was clusters for like $150... ouch. I guess if I have to I will pick one up.

I haven't looked at the belt yet, I would assume it needs to be changed. The engine looks pretty easy to work on, so it shouldn't be a huge task to swap it out.

First thing you should do, for the irony, is put an E30 iS lip on it.

I've got a $500 1985 volvo wagon. 330k shown on the odometer, which broke years ago. Rusted and scraped on every bodypanel. Passes inspection and hauls queen-size mattresses. My sister picked up an $825 volvo a few months ago, which she wrecked on the highway. Still runs and drives though. I fucking love the old box volvos.

Oh, the cams on that motor, are held in place by the valve cover. Haha

My thoughts exactly. Lower it and put an iS lip on it. Make sure you put the iS lip on upside down.
