LOL, look at Sarkozy! He looks like he's about to . The Asian guy in the back looks like he's telling the guy beside him "I didn't know they bowed as well." Even the secret service looking guy is having a chuckle.

Congress didn't read it because they are irresponsible, AND, because Obama demanded they sign off on it before he goes on his vacation.

              That was the whole point.

C'mon dude - pay attention. It wasn't that long ago when this happened.

If you recall our european allies didn't want it back when bush first proposed it anyway. It does nothing but piss off our former adversaries and destabilize international relations.

"Hey guys we're all pals now ok? I trust you won't shoot me; but I'm going to hang onto my bulletproof vest anyway. Oh by the way, my vest isn't actually bulletproof. And it's not really a vest. It's more of a blankie I had left over from the Reagan years."

Bush spent 879 days at his ranch in 8 years in office. That's roughly 30% of his time. In 100 days obama has taken one 3 day vacation. 3%.

Edit: I didn't include the 840 some days he spent at camp david, or the 43 up north with SR. Or that bush took 6 weeks off his first 100 days, but I should have.
The President takes working vacations. He is available 24/7, regardless of his location. He is always on the job.

Obama pushed the signing of the stimulus bill on the premise that he was going on vacation and it had to be signed before he went.

He did this so it would get passed without anyone having a chance to read it. Not that any one who signed would've bothered anyways, but still...

Regardless, Obama sold out our allies in Europe.

Read some of the Euro papers or better yet, get a C-Band sat dish and tuner and watch something other then US TV

Which it might have had the Dems and the left not undermined our war effort.

Actually, the war lasted only a few weeks and probably cost less then 100Billion.

It was the "insurgency" that extended the war and cost the extra money.

Where do you get your "3 Trillion dollar" figure from?

you have no idea what you're talking about.

i suppose Al Queda in Iraq would never have shown up and Fallujah and Sadr City would have welcomed us with open arms had it not been for the Democrats and DailyKOS?

the insurgency occurred because Bush didn't have an exit strategy, and because it apparently never occurred to him that occupying another country would result in an asymmetric war, not a conventional one.

                    it kinda should have.

I disagree with the take on a number of those points, in other words, they weren't anything extraordinary or particularly wrong. However, there is at least 50 in there, maybe 75 that are very disturbing and should not be easily dismissed as "hype" or over reaction. Only an irrational person could possibly defend a lot of those items.

However, a lot of you are missing the point entirely on a lot of those gaffs. Right or wrong about Cuba, Hugo, Russia, Iran, Iraq, missile shields, reset buttons, stimulus spending bills and trillion dollar deficit budgets, those are all very serious and very troubling gaffs made by this administration. Again, let me repeat, it isn't at issue what Obama's position is on those topics, it is his arrogance and complete and total lack of understanding of economics, business, and international politics that is the problem.

Governments always haggle over agreements. They don't do it in public, and for good reason. Other world leaders need to know the leader of our country has their backs if something goes wrong. None of our allies could possibly think Obama has their backs. He has flip flopped, hemmed and hawed through his first 100 days in such a way as to seriously destabilize our international credibility and security.

Obama has used the current economic crisis to further his own agenda and to pay off his campaign debts. That isn't leadership, that's slimy politics... things that we ALL despise about our government.

And Lee, get the fuck off of trying to compare money spent on the wars against spending money on social programs. Those are two completely separate issues. I really love the way you try to defend Obama's obvious mistakes by bringing up what you perceive to be Bush's mistakes. Good argument technique there pal. It's equivalent to saying "Oh yeah?". And let me guess, your next intelligent post will be "Oh yeah?". Don't try and deny that is exactly what you were going to write, wasn't it?

Last point: Any President who makes fun of the people of this country, who talks down to half of the voters in this nation, and can't talk intelligently without a teleprompter, is somebody who shouldn't be in office and can't be taken seriously.

Ok. I'm going to attempt this one more time. Hopefully I get my point across.

The president can demand anything he wants but congress doesn't have to do a damn thing. If congress hastily passes a bill then it is CONGRESS' FAULT. Obama can't MAKE them do anything. Each and every person sitting in that room has to make a decision for anything to pass. And I'm the one that needs to pay attention? You can blame Obama for rushing them but ultimately you have to blame the Senators and Representatives that passed this atrocious bill. This is just another smoke screen for the "Blame Obama" bandwagon and again an important point is being missed. All of these spineless Senators and Representatives that went along with this should be voted out when their terms come up.

What about a listener who ignores substance because the speaker has a southern accent?

What about a listener who only hears the cadence of the delivery but misses that there is no substance there?

Bush could speak intelligently on just about any subject that related to the presidency. Yeah, he stumbled and mispronounced, and generally shoved his foot down his throat a few times, but in the end, what he actually said had real substance and actually would answer the question. It would have been fine if people just disagreed. But nope. They just pawned him off as an idiot. It fucking pisses me off. The very best instructor I ever had in college had a horrible stuttering problem. Somebody like you would blow him off as a moron. Yet if you would actually listen to the man, wait patiently for him to struggle and get the words out, you would learn a lot of very valuable things.

You didn't read my comment to Lee. Trying to defend Obama by defaming Bush is equivalent to yelling "Oh yeah?". It isn't a valid argument, it is simply a deflection; something you seemingly learned from the current President.

I know it's tough on your random mind, be we are talking about Obama here. Go ahead, put up a real defense for his actions. I'm waiting.

Oh, and cute fucking trick with the white font. I bet you are one of those guys who posts "FIRST" in a new thread too.
