For 8 years, we heard the left accuse GW Bush, who I didn't vote for, accuse him of being behind 9-11, going to war for oil, failing to help Katrina victims because they were mainly black, etc...yet when Obama is factually criticized, they get all pissy.

If you're going to dish it out, then be man enough to take it.

What happened to vedubin? Did E30cab and him fuse together? And since everyone on the forum is either a typical Liberal America-hater/weakling/idiot/person who stays at home with mom/fill in the ________ or a right wing supremest, what happened to the whole thing of "respecting the president?" You know, the way you respected Bush and Cheney "whether you agreed with them or not," and how outraged and offended everyone got when the "typical liberal tards" said some mean things about McCain and friends because they didn't like him? Smells like hypocrisy.

The funny thing is that I more or less agree. I think Obama is doing a terrible job on some fronts and it's too soon to tell on others. His economic policy is what irritates me the most. I'm not an Obama apologist as I'm sure some will assume (you're either with us or against us, right? ;)) but I also don't think repeating talking points that you *could* hear on a cable news show helps along your point. I would elect a president that skipped like a broken record at a press conference if he knew how to run the country. I guess what I'm trying to say is cut the ad hominem attacks and get to the meat of what's wrong with Obama and his policies otherwise you're just noise and you should pipe down. People were expecting way too much out of Obama, at the end of the day he's just another politician and until this country can wake up and stop electing status quo politicians we deserve all the idiocy on capital hill that we get.

The horrible thing is, I have never been afraid of my government. I served in the Army and Army Guard for 20 years. I have taken my share of government dole and I have been one of "them". But I am honestly scared of my government now. I am scared of what they will do next. I am scared of the horrible price our military will have to pay for their mistakes. I am scared about the loss of our freedom, and I am scared of economic suicide. I hope I am dead wrong.

It might surprise a bunch of you that socially, I am pretty darned middle of the road. I am very strongly conservative about economics and a strong believer of free markets and I strongly believe in personal responsibility, respect for other responsible people, and a very strong believer in small government. You can see how the current administration is somewhat anathema to most of those principles.

Nope, just human nature. We're not perfect and we get pissed too.
I do respect the presidency. However, I do not respect the man that currently holds that office. You can't change human nature.

I love to have actual discussions about the merits of different policies. But most people don't know how to do that and we just end up with a yelling match and putting down your antagonist. You bring up criticism about a policy that Obama has employed, and you get Lee the Canadian, or Kronos AKA Cpt. Random, jumping in saying that Bush was an asshole. Then things go to shit.
