Frickin' Amen.
Just trying to stay on topic. ;)
I suppose it's just too radical to think God created Life and intended it to evolve. Man created is His own image out of desire for relationship, a desire people have, yet brave enough to give Man free will, something Men and Women in love struggle with... and if my own free mind can fathom the compatibility of the two camps, why is it so hard for others?- Sco

I never understood why people bash on Philosophy majors. The degree may not provide you with the skills necessary to engineer a bridge or map the human genome, but it is by far the most intellectually challenging degree you can get. Ethics and logic are two branches of Philosophy which are very relevant to everyday life and empower one to make informed decisions when shit happens. If it weren't for Philosophy, I would still be praying to imaginary beings in the sky.Comment

Say what you want, but my intellect has grown exponentially in just the past few years and I directly attribute this to what I have learned in Philosophy. The ability to do Philosophy is as much a skill as math and science.Last edited by Guest; 05-01-2009, 03:05 PM.Comment

No offence - but you lost all credibility when you claimed scientists support intelligent design and claim the theory of evolution is impossible.
I'm pretty sure what you're referring to are church funded scientists. No one would come to those conclusions through normal scientific practices. The sad part is there's enough stupid sheeple in this country to make you feel good about your decision to turn your back on logic and rational thought."We praise or find fault, depending on which of the two provides more opportunity for our powers of judgement to shine."Comment

Church funded scientists are still scientists. I will also say, IMO, that there are still holes in a great deal of the theories out there about how everything was started ... ON ALL SIDES. I will also state that philosophy bores the crap out of me. I generally do not dwell on what has been but what is currently happening or what is coming up. I am psychologically oriented ... meaning I like understanding how peoples minds and thoughts work.Comment

NO offense taken. I don't get all butt hurt at peoples statements ... you are entitled to your opinion as am I. I will agree that I should have been more clear. I was actually referring to being formed from sludge (cause I cannot think of the word I am looking for). I will try and find the studies to which I am referring.

Are you going to tell me that the jews used time travel to put it there? Maybe that they also scattered fossils all over the earth to play a trick on christians of little faith?"We praise or find fault, depending on which of the two provides more opportunity for our powers of judgement to shine."Comment
