Holy old thread batman. OP posted this thread 5 years ago, hasn't even logged in within the last 4 months.
Creativity is key. People don't put in much effort into dates these days, make it an adventure.
Make it a story worth listening to, like a crazy adventure that you have a partner to share with. If the person accepts getting out of their comfort zone (as well as yourself) as far as first dates go, think of what could transpire.
