    next cellphone w/qwerty

I'm staying with verizon..although I don't want to, I get a substantial discount with them.

So, I'm looking for a phone with the qwerty keyboard. I call/text but do not get on the web or email..I don't need it/nor want it.

Verizon guy told me I can't get a smartphone/pda (the curve is the one I wanted) because the new rule is you HAVE to get the email/web package if you get a sp/pda

So anyone have any suggestions with the qwerty keyboard? that isn't pda/sp

I know a lot of us have different cellphones, I have the oldest Q which I like, its just slow as f*k and is starting to give a lot of problems.

Buy a smart phone pda not from verizon, call and have them connect it over the phone. Don't upgrade your plan.

You can't do that. You have to get the plan to use the smart phone.

I was looking at the Env2 I think they are cool. But as far as non-smart phones, that's all I know that's worth anything. I would vouch for the BB Curve all day long if it wasn't $30+ extra to use it. I had one for about four months and I loved that phone.

the ones I was told to look at from the verizon guy was the

Env2, Dare, Versa (which has the best review on verizons website)...any comments on these? Only thing that I don't like about the Dare is it has the virtual qwerty and I have larger fingers. I like the feel of buttons (and cotton the fabric of our lives)

Does Verizon do the LG Lotus? I've got one with sprint, and I love it. Flip phone with a full qwerty.

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

nope they don't have the lotus. I guess the above 3 are my best choices. More like the env2 or the versa...I need to see which one is the smallest. I don't want to be lugging a q like phone in my pocket any more.

i use an old audiovox xv6700. it is freaking amazing. it runs windows mobile, and can connect to any wifi network and gets a better signal than my laptop. i even changed the settings so if i try to connect without a network, it uses my home phone as a dial up network instead of verizons data network. that way it only uses minutes while i'm on the internet. and yes it has a full querty keyboard. you cant get it from verizon anymore. none of their new phones can use wifi.

you can use some pda/smart phones with verizon without upgrading your plan but you wont have "precious" email and some other options you get with smart phones.

I have the ENV2. Like you I call and text but don't do email or web stuff. I like my lg very much and it has taken some pretty nasty falls but yet to have a problem with it. I dont have big fingers but I really like the spacing of the keys. Had a motoq before this and HATED it!! Plus I had to buy a PDA plan which I NEVER used.

I have the LG Voyager and it's good. It's like a freakin brick so it doesn't really brake either.
