Yep. I've stopped in New Mexico for a peacock. Pulled over for a pig on the 15 fwy. Animal cadavers don't need to be littering the roadways.

I'll tell the story when the poll gets some good results.

No fucking question, that dog being on the freeway is the result of its owner's general stupidity and neglect of the animal; I'm not about to be another person to turn my back on the poor, defenseless animal. Just my take on it though, I'm a dog lover through and through.

Yes, without a doubt, even if it attempted to destroy my vehicle.

Yes. I caught a baby mourning dove just two days ago because it was in the middle of a road (no cars ATM, but it would have soon died). If I did that for a freakin' bird of course I would for a dog.

as much as I love animals and I love my dogs and would hope someone would stop to save my dog who doesn't sport a collar on the highway.... no. I'd feel bad and then shortly mentally wash my hands.

btw, I don't think, or at least cannot remember, ever seeing a dog on the highway or anywhere near one.

I have had several pets over the years that are abandoned or road side finds

Hell some asshole stoped at the farm 4 years ago and put a cat in one of the small side compartments of the horse trailer, when no one was around it was 98 fucking degrees that day and the trailer is black. The little woman just happen to walk by there (did not normally) that day and heard him squawking. He drank a ton of water like he had not had anything to drink in days

Now I have a big gray stupid (hes just dumb) cat, he turned into my cat.

have saved several dogs over the years and got them back to the right full owners.

My current dog was a road find by some family friends that did not work out with them so now we have him

                          my dumb cat Boo Boo

I would stop without even checking my rear view.

Nothing tugs my heart strings like an animal in danger.

I stopped for a red-slider turtle last week, poor guy was hiding in his shell in the middle of the road.

How many people would stop for a human with a collar in the middle of the road hmmmmm?

Nope. As much as it sucks, I would not risk my own life on a busy freeway for an animal.
