    SHIPPERS BEWARE! USPS never again!

I got a much needed ECU from a member in the mail today.

Sadly, the United States Postal Service managed to let the lower half of the box sit in water long enough for the container to break open. When I got it it was in their apology bag and still wet.

So I go down the office and show them how I recieved it. I was told there is nothing we can do if its not insured. Guess what, not insured.
Ready for this? Here is their reply, and I quote, "tough luck!" Assholes! :hitler:

So the moral here is get it insured and i will never use the USPS for anything. I realize shit happens but when it is an obvious mistake on the part of the shipping service (they had to put it in a plastic bag the box was so wet) I believe they should be accountable.

I see where they got the inspiration for Newman.

Shit like this happens with ALL shippers. Don't think Fedex or UPS are any different. No matter who you ship with, statistics will eventually catch up and they will destroy a shipment that you are involved with. SOP at Fedex or UPS is to deny ANY claim due to 'insufficient packaging'. They are all the same.

      ^^^^

Yeah, I know. Hopefully I can salvage the ECU.

Big lesson, INSURE! Sad that the service after damage is so not give a shit. But, I have learned a painful lesson!

USPS is still so much better than UPS. But it can happen with any of the carriers.

It happened to me a few weeks ago with an NAD stereo amp shipped with USPS. I ALWAYS pay for insurance, but I overlooked it ONE time on ebay because the seller listed insurance as optional and I forgot to click the box. It just so happened that they managed to smash the package and it cracked a circuit board that is mounted directly to the main chassis. Its frustrating, but it happens all of the time. Next time, pony up the extra $2 for the insurance.

i suspect that they are more careful with insured shipments. every shipment i've had a hard time with either wasnt insured or didnt have tracking. every shipment that ive insured always came in perfect.

USPS sucks. all my packages are regularly beaten the fuck up. I got a letter with decals in it for my website and it was ripped open like someone actually opened it. There was literally nothing in the envelope but I did get an apology sticker attached to it. WTF? "sorry we opened your mail and stole your kick ass decals"?!

                  Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

UPS and FedEx automatically insure all shipments to $100, btw. The only USPS that gets insurance is Express Mail, afaik.

I was just going to say this.

I never use UPS around here though, they have a hard on for trying to smash my packages into oblivion.

Ive had similiar shit happen with all couriers.

FYI, if you ship it Priority, you get 100 dollars free insurance right off the top. It costs to get it insured for anything over that...

I got your back on this, i ship fedex or nothing. USPS is a JOKE, im pretty sure my carrier smokes pot and throws my mail away half the time as i sometimes am missing bills and other important things.
Now look, I am not evil. My loan officer said so.
