I kept most hobbies, my wife is the coolest women ever. I laid off on golf every weekend and cut back a little on the outdoor activities. It wasn't but three or four weeks after our son was born I was back at the track instructing with the Porsche club & BMW club on the weekends.

Trust me though I was kept very busy during the week and once our son was off the boob and time to feed via bottle I was up and taken care of business.

Has it hit you yet that you're now responsible for a human life!

I still get moments that I look at my son when he is play'n and just think that he is my son and, his racing career is on my hands, just kidding. In all reality I do catch myself thinking that its up to me now to be the best father I can be to him.

Have you had to deal with meconium yet? Derek this is something you'll get to deal with soon enough....just keep it off your skin!

                      Well done, sir... Well done.

I already show my daughter issues of Hit Rod and C&D... She asks what each car is.. And, she knows what a burnout is... LOL

She takes her scooter and pulls it around the driveway making tire squealing noises. Awesome!

Your were half right. Yes, your previous selfish egocentered life is indeed over. But now, another one has just started. It will be more difficult. More stressfull. Now you are responsible for that little baby. That baby counts on you. This is a very rewarding life. Give all you have to that little thing, and for sure that little thing will be greatfull for ever, even if "it" hardly shows it. For whatever decision you have to take, always keep that baby in perspective. You may break-up one day with the mother, but that baby will always be your blood.

                          Congratulation. Welcome to adulthood.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Oh and I can't wait to get him his own E30. Im definatly getting him a todler seat like one of those ither the recaro or the simpson.
I've still got my e30 and my m5. I can't go out and work on them whenever I want, but there is always nap time, post-bedtime, etc. You still need to be an individual and keep your interests, but family should always take precedence. Plus, when the boy is older, you can start doing stuff together - shows, races, etc. There is nothing better than watching my son's eyes light up when i pull in driving one of my cars. It's in our blood!
