    r3v has spoiled me. :(

I own no e30 currently, but still am here because I will own one in the forthcoming future. In the mean time it pisses me off that there are no good e39 forums.
I get a lot of my info off bimmerfest, but most of those guys on there are total tool bags that know nothing about cars and use the site to show off how much moneys they have.
Anyway enough rant for me..... Maybe I'll start an e39 forum hmm.

for the most part e39 owners are check cutters. all they have to offer is advice on what bluetooth accessories to get. e39 is a nice daily but its not really an enthusiast car.

How many miles are on yours. and if you have done your water pump when did you replace it?
I'm currently having problems with my lcm, just ordered the chip(s) to fix it, other than that its been solid.. knock on wood.
My car love to cruise at anything over 70 and it still feels like I'm going 65 :D

I have to say that the design team that came up with plastic design radiator was not on the ball with that one. I have a bit of a love affair with the e39 as well, I have a client who has 2003 540i S/C`d. It is a great ride now we have all the bugs worked out.

Its a sexy car, e39 m5's are probably one of my favorite bmw's. Plastic radiator eeeeh not so much a good idea, my reservoir wiggles a little, feels like it will snap at any moment.

Well the clip for the e39 expansion tank/reservoir's is a flimsy piece of shit and breaks 90% of the time someone trys to unclip it so it sounds like yours is broken like mine. Zionsville makes an aluminum cooling system for the e39's that is expensive but well worth all the headaches and dollars through at the stock set up.

I agree-great forum even though it is M5 based, but of course besides the drivetrain the information will apply to other E39's as well.

Knock on wood, but at almost 92k miles my E39 M5 is still on the original radiator and water pump. For whatever reason I don't hear as many complaints on M5 water pump and radiator failures in comparison to the 6 cylinder models.

Now as soon as I have said that, watch mine pop later on today...

I have 135k, the last 30k of them hard! My radiator only went last year after an AutoX in which the bolts that hold it down came loose and cracked the plastic from banging around.

My waterpump is still original from all I know.

We really like our 540i, but the complexity of the engine/me not having time to learn another car requires me to cut checks for most things (I still do suspension stuff).

I would hardly say that it is more reliable than the e30 though. I use bimmerforums and roadfly for my e39 info.

Regardless, I love how it moves!

I currently have no e30, just e36's; 328 & m3. Not sure if I'll buy another e30 for a year or so, depends how funds go. Either way, I'm staying on r3v. fuk it
