      I saw this car in motor trend a year or two ago, but this is the first time I've seen it in action. Pretty cool to see how much it wins by every time.

                  They say they need to charge it 12-20 minutes after a quarter mile, with the lead batteries. Li-Ion batteries are not only lighter they last longer than standard batteries. Also since he shed 700lbs it wouldn't be under full load as long on the road, earning more milage.

                      Yea they said he had them on loan from that electric bike company. If he is using 70 batteries (same number as lead) it's easily $3500, I'd imagine more but one that replaces a 12 hour aaa, for 20 hours is about $50

                        $3500? try $10k+ for the lead acid set, and 4x that for Li-Ion.
                        I've considered converting before, and this is always the showstopper.
