2002's are a blast to drive when set up properly
i like to keep cars relatively stock and enjoy them as the mfr intended
there are lots of things you can do to improve the 2002 without spending gobs of money
suspension/shox/sway bars and seats and a weber carb are the main upgrades
what you'll have at the end of the above upgrades is a really responsive car that corners flat, is balanced and will keep up with an e30 thru the twisties without a problem
there is more to a car than horsepower
if you want to get in deeper, modding the motor is relatively easy to do and you can pump up stock horsepwer from 115 to 140 pretty easily. in a 2100lb car, you will notice that increase right away. BTW - 140hp is the same output as an M42 motor from a 318is.
one bonus to a 2002
people will smile and wave at someone in a 2002, whereas in an e30 other e30's will "wave".
i own 2 e30's and a 2002tii (my 5th 2002)
completely different cars
