What about the undies, I hear it's a $500,000,000.00 a year form of income for the CoJCoLDS.

I just want everyone to know I am/was not knocking them with this thread, simply seeking answers and experiences from all of you.

I knew a extremely hot Mormon chick back in highschool.

She moved to Utah and married some other Mormon when she graduated.

    That's actually illegal.

You cannot ask about personal life, religion, sexual preference (mine is hot female blond's in case you are wondering), ethnicity, etc, during a job interview. They can only ask about relevant questions concerning your ability to do the job that they are interviewing for. Now if the job was to be a "prophet" for the church, well then maybe that question would be valid. Otherwise, it isn't.

If it ever come up again, you can tell them that it isn't relevant and if they think it is, then you are probably better off working somewhere else. But if they persist, you should be able to take it to the local attorney general and get them fined.

I have a lot of family that is part of the "revised" LDS. They are not nearly as wacky and strict, but they do teach the extra books of the bible that John Smith (is that the right name?) came up with. It was always a bit weird during a funeral or wedding to have one of my uncle's (who is ordained) start talking about what somebody said in one of these exclusivly Morman books of the bible. The book of Fred??? What?

They can be a little pushy about their religion, but that is no different than any other case. They are one and all good people though.

My best buddy while I was on active duty in the Army was excomunicated, or whatever they call it, for not wearing the proper clothes to church. I suspect there was more to it than that. He didn't have a lot good to say about the church. He grew up in a place called Herriman, Utah. It is very much a church town, or was back then. He used to complain about the tithing. If you didn't pay your 10% of your earnings, they would show up at your door to collect. In some of these small towns, they would even try to collect if you were not a member.

If you wonder how they make such nice churches, the tithing is all it takes. And that is also, in my opinion, why they are so aggressive about recruiting and make it somewhat cult-like. One of my classmates in high school attended a local mormon church.

I drove by his church one day and noticed that there were no windows anywhere on the building. It was all solid brick, like a fortress.

I thought it was weird, so I asked him about it the next time I saw him.

He said they used to have windows, but people kept driving by and shooting them out.

my .02 cents, since I live in the MoRmaN capital of the world, is that MOST, but not all, mormons are genuinely nice people, they will usually help out if you ask, and they don't swear.. much, I've heard a slip here or there.

Everyone and everything here is mormon, starting with jobs. I'm into acting, and I get emails from my agent for gigs, well sometimes the email states specifically that in order to audition you have to be a "worthy LDS member in GOOD STANDING with your bishop" which makes them look like elitist.

Also, I've been asked if I'm mormon at some job interviews, and i'm pretty damn sure I've been rejected from a position because I said no.

However, here in SLC, people actually pride themselves in saying "I'm not a mormon", it's like this underground thing within the 20-35 year olds where we go to clubs and or parties and we know we don't have to worry about offending anyone, because we all are catholic and christian or whatever else, but not mormon.

Either way, mormonism here controls everything, bars, clubs, etc, which I find hypocritical when they don't allow caffeine but serve alcohol at their establishments.

Off the beaten path, the mormon girls are usually really good looking, don't ask me why, so it's not all bad.

Farbin, if what you're saying is true, it just might be that you've proven that religious people believe a bunch of wacky shit. When this gets out, just think of the repercussions. I am going to pm the admins to delete my posts so that I cannot be linked to this revelation. Godspeed.

So everyone knows what to do with unwed mothers, members whom need medical assistance, HIV+ members, disasso0ciation of Missionaries, how High Priests are elected, etc.

This is a 140+ page document, it's distributed to the top 10% of the church population. Tells what to do about anything/everything.
I was skimming through that book, and I can tell you without a doubt, it's not distributed to the top 10% of the church. There's nothing really special about the information contained in there(well at least not to me) but it's more along the lines of "The Idiots Guide on how to be a Bishop/Stake President In the Mormon Religion." I'm guessing these are distributed to new Bishops or Stake Presidents when they are appointed.

There are literally handbooks and guides for everything, from teaching lessons on the Book of Mormon, to how to be a missionary.

On what you posted above, I've got nothing. that's looking way deeper into the religion than I'd care to.

I just look at religion as if it works for you, then congrats. I don't view Mormonism as really being any more extreme than Christians, Catholics, Muslims, etc. They all believe in something wacky.

I'm just unsure of what exactly gives them such a bad rap. There's douche canoes in every religion. But don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to defend anything they do. They personally bug the fuck out of me, but I'm coming from a long bitter background of dealing with the religion. It was pretty much forced upon me as a teenager, i.e. if I didn't go to church that week, I couldn't drive for the next two weeks.

    Relations... from...

Utah Lighthouse Ministry provides research comparing Mormon claims with Christianity as well as documentation on historical problems in LDS History.

    1. Both the Masons and the Mormons have what is called "the five points of fellowship."

    Mormons

"The five points of fellowship are given by putting the inside of the right foot to the inside of the Lord's, the inside of your knee to his, laying your breast close to his, your left hands on each other's backs, and each one putting his mouth to the other's ear, in which position the Lord whispers:

"Lord—'This is the sign of the token:

" 'Health to the navel, marrow in the bones, . . .

    (Temple Mormonism, page 22)

    Masons

"He (the candidate) is raised on what is called the five points of fellowship, . . . This is done by putting the inside of your right foot to the inside of the right foot of the person to whom you are going to give the word, the inside of your knee to his, laying your right breast against his, your left hands on the back of each other, and your mouths to each other's right ear (in which position alone you are permitted to give the word), and whisper the word Mahhah-bone. . . He is also told that Mahhah-bone signifies marrow in the bone."

    (Freemasonry Exposed, pages 84-85)

    2. When the candidate receives "The First Token of the Aaronic Priesthood" he makes a promise similar to the oath taken in the "First Degree" of the Masonic ritual.

    Mormons

". . .we will not reveal any of the secrets of this, the first token of the Aaronic priesthood, with its accompanying name, sign or penalty. Should we do so, we agree that our throats be cut from ear to ear and our tongues torn out by their roots."

    (Temple Mormonism, page 18 )

    Masons

". . .I will. . . never reveal any part or parts, art or arts, point or points of the secret arts and mysteries of ancient Freemasonry. . . binding myself under no less penalty than to have my throat cut across, my tongue torn out by the roots, . . ."

    (Freemasonry Exposed, p. 21-22)

    3. In both ceremonies the thumb is drawn across the throat to show the penalty.

    Mormons

"Sign—In executing the sign of the penalty, the right hand, palm down, is drawn sharply across the throat, . . .

    (Temple Mormonism, page 18 )

    Masons

"This is given by drawing your right hand across your throat, the thumb next to your throat, . . ."

    (Freemasonry Exposed, p. 23)

    14. Both the Masons and the Mormons have a vow regarding "chastity."

    Mormons

" 'You and each of you do covenant and promise that you will not have sexual intercourse with any of the opposite sex except your lawful wife or wives who are given you by the holy priesthood.' "

    (Temple Mormonism, page 21)

    Masons

"Furthermore do I promise and swear that I will not violate the chastity of a Master Mason's wife, mother, sister, or daughter, I knowing them to be such, nor suffer it to be done by others, if in my power to prevent it."

    (Freemasonry Exposed, pages 74-75)
Just a few... There are about 27 different correlations.
