    Wow.... Honda...

So my buddy has a 97 accord thats been giving him slipping issues for a bit, finally threw a code today for the TCC circuit. Hoping it might be a semi-common (apparently it is on oddesys) I hit up google.

Read this thread, http://www.hondacarforum.com/honda-2/14274-p0740.html I like all the "fixes" people suggest lol. #5 almost had it right.

Yeah I'm looking at the wiring diagram now. I will see if they are bad before I go out and order parts, don't wanna order them up just to find the green demon inside some wires.

Looks like they are up on top of the trans which should make my life easier.

Don't waste time, just buy them. I'm pretty sure those are the two with one harness. Get a new gasket too.

I pulled P0740 which honda says is a "defective lock up control system" if either of the solenoids went P1753 or P1785 should have been thrown depending on the solenoid.

Also says the car should have a bad idle (which it does with AC on but not off)

Read on some more, says to replace them, if that doesn't work replace the torque converter, and if THAT doesn't work, buy a new fuckin trans lol

Whatever, I will test the wires for kicks, then probably go get some new solenoids.

Yeah I didn't want to tell you about replacing the trans. Solenoids then trans. But its a few thousand cheaper to try the solenoids.

I figured from the start I'm probably gonna end up dropping it. Car has 225k on it, and the trans I know "lost all the fluid" in the past. Not to mention hes been driving it around for a few days letting it slip.

Fluid doesn't smell that bad though... yet.

I guess no parts stores stock it or something, I just checked online. NAPA had what I think is the correct solenoids but they want $200 for them. Probably just gonna go off to the yard and see what I can find.

Blah, well he was retarded and still drove the car, now it has 1st gear and that's it. Looks like its really time for a new tranny now.

Any idea if there's trannys besides an accord and odyssey that fit? I can't seem to find crap around here, cheapest one is $500... What a hose, I can buy a different honda for that much.

They are a dealer only part. You can't buy them at NAPA.
