I'm not exactly new to bikes, but I haven't done any track riding yet, just aggressive back road twistys. I've had 3 Honda 600s (F2, F4i, 600rr), and I've ridden plenty of newer GSXR 750s, 1000rr, and a 1098R for about 40 feet before I got scared (dont wanna drop your buddies brand new $30k toy) :p
The 848 I'm looking at should dyno down right around 125 I think, definitely quick enough to get moving, especially when you consider that it makes more torque throughout the entire RPM range than any 600/750 (and most older liter bikes).
Lighter wheels are the best mod you can possibly do to a bike. My cousin slapped some BST carbon wheels on his GSXR 600 track bike, and it was night/day difference even on the back roads. I cant imagine how awesome it would feel to ride a stock wheeled bike vs carbon wheels back-to-back..
I cant wait till those start dropping in price.. The red/white/blue color scheme is gorgeous.
