Intermeccanica actually builds excellent 356 replicas that are generally as good or better than the real car in terms of build quality and performance. I'll should be interviewing the owner of Intermeccanica within the next month for the blog I write for. It is pretty much him and 10 dudes that work for him building the cars and currently takes about 2 years from order to delivery.

And also, there is a vast difference between a replica and a kit car.

Intermeccanica is to 356 what Superformance is to the Cobra.

No, I am taking about preformence. I have driven both a replica cobra and the real thing. there is a diffrence between the two. Bit the replica did have a 460 instead of the 427 so that might be why but still felt alot of diffrences between the two. But thats just me. I would rather have the real thing then a clone or a replica.

Hardly even close. We have a customer who has a porsche spyder kit car with a worked VW motor. It's fast, handles like a dream and probably cost around $30k all said and done. When the realize the real one is going to be at least half a million, which would you rather drive around in and have fun with? Even if I had a real one I'd still buy the replica to have fun with and not worry about crashing.
