    e-cigarettes article

    Just came across this

In case you ever of the mindset that e-cigarettes were somehow toxin free, at least compared to the more traditional smokes, along comes the FDA to shatter your illusions. A report this week from the government agency calls out the product with a safety warning, charging that the cartridges they examined contained "carcinogens and toxic chemicals such as diethylene glycol, an ingredient used in antifreeze." The FDA says it can't confirm the extent of the health issues, as it's only done limited testing and it hasn't been formally submitted for review, but it doesn't look quite as risk-free as previously touted. Don't say the WHO never warned ya. So remind us again, what's the point in smoking one of these over an old school cigarette?[Via Switched; thanks, flatlander85]

But I can smoke e cigs in a bar not get thrown out and not smell like shit or have that nasty cig taste in my mouth......Plus a cig has 400+ bad things in compared to 2 bad things in a e-cig.

I can obviously see how they would say its not "safe" at all. However, if you wanna play the carcinogens game stepping outside in LA and taking in a deep breath you inhale carcinogens, re-using plastic bottles will give you carcinogens, and stepping out in the sun too long and you're dead as well.

They sold those at one of the malls that we have a store in. Funny thing, 3 of their 5 employees in the last 6 months have passed out and one actually had a seizure. No other medical history etc. They puff away on those things for near 12 hours a day, non stop. Coincidence, or a side effect? I will let you be the judge. :)

I'll just start with the fact that I've been using these things for a few months now and have been reading as much as I can about them. This study is much more complete.

Please enlighten me with what you know about the subject and I'll do my best to educate you.

I hate these things, all the flavors taste like chocolate and strawberry.

After Im done smoking my e cig, I still need a regular one to satisfy me.
