Only thing good about this thread compared to the massive amount of threads on this subject in Off Topic is the OP's avatar.

Beck's grandstanding and take on the deal is stupid. He obviously doesn't know what he is talking about.
However, that usage agreement is astounding. If I were a dealer, and I felt I had to use this dole to get sales, I would use a clean computer that was completely separate from my network. It is the arrogance and the stupidity to put a usage agreement like that in place that is the story here. It isn't a standard government agreement from what I have seen. It is the problem with these kinds of "programs" that the government does. They put something in place that you are forced to use, and then they make it so you have no control and are forced to give up your privacy for the "greater good".1987 E30 325is

soo... using everybody's tax money to help people buy new cars most can't afford from a company we already had to spend money on to make profitable is a good idea??? Not to mention removing completely viable, inexpensive, and existing transportation solutions (and replacement parts for such as well) are being destroyed to drive demand for new production.

I seem to recall the Republican MSM flipping a major shit when the government considered NOT helping Ford and GM and letting them fail...Comment

^^^ bad call on the Republican's part. And nice attempt to flip the argument back to those hated republicans, every time a conservative makes a valid point against what the current Congress (and Obama) are doing.

I'm not explicitly flipping the argument. I'm just annoyed that some people here use facts at their convenience when arguing about something. For example, in this case, there had been prior bitching about Obama not bailing out the auto makers. (even though the bailout programs were started under Bush and nobody had a problem with it then, from the sound of things...) Now, when this bailout is in progress, suddenly, the government is a bad guy for spurring the auto makers to ensure their survival so that the taxpayers don't have to bail them out, again.^^^ bad call on the Republican's part. And nice attempt to flip the argument back to those hated republicans, every time a conservative makes a valid point against what the current Congress (and Obama) are doing.

Stuff like this makes it difficult to have a rational conversation about politics with you guys. Facts don't appear and disappear at your leisure.Comment

^^ well yeah, I would agree the lots of people here use one-sided arguments without factual base.. on both sides. Most people call it out. (see the health care thread. There's lots of misinformation regarding the quality and expense of health care there. See Hallen's posts.) And it wasn't on the forefront of the media, nor was it encompassed by these other sweeping bailouts. (yeah, I know Bush was gonna bail the banks out too.) I didn't agree with it then, and I still don't. Most people arguing against Obamanomics would argue the same thing.sigpic89 M3Comment
