Update: The original video mentioned in this blog has been removed from YouTube by the person who uploaded it. Another user has uploaded a copy. The link is below.
What started as a spat between fans from opposing teams during Sunday's Detroit Lions home opener spawned a profanity-laden viral video of belligerent, apparently drunken Lions fans.
A YouTube video of the quarrel between the Lions fans at the game between Detroit and Minnesota is making the rounds online tonight. The clip has been watched more than 38,000 times and is the No. 14 most "favorited" video on YouTube today.
"The two girls in front of us were drunk before the game started," the video's description reads. "They grabbed one of our signs and trashed it (real classy) because we're Vikings fans, and then spent most of the first half mocking us instead of watching the game because the Lions were ahead."
"They were spilling beer on themselves, the seats, and some of the other fans," the description continues. "After they spilled quite a bit of beer on the guys in the row below them, they turned around and told them to SIT DOWN. One girl didn't like that so she poured the rest of her beer on his head. Then I knew it was time to start the camera."
The woman, in a Roy Williams jersey, can be seen taunting a man in the front row.
Another woman can be heard saying: "Jessica, stop! Stop!"
The man, in a Calvin Johnson jersey, taunts back to the woman's friend: "Shut ... up, too."
A little over 2 minutes into the clip, Ford Field security arrives to restrain the crying woman.
As they walk her out, the woman asks to stop at her seat to grab her purse, but instead tries to throw another punch at the taunting man. She is eventually restrained with handcuffs.
The crowd applauds as she is escorted up to the concourse. The Lions lost the game 27-13.
