08 5 Series and VZW BB doesn't play well together.

Background: My wife (6 years now) works for Verizon Wireless as a Universal Coordinator. Basically when you call in for a tech issue on a PDA, BB or Wifi card, and the first person can't help you/fix problem...my wife gets them.

Today: She had a lady call in that started the converstation (paraphrasing) "I know this prob isn't vzw's fault, but. I just yesterday paired my BB Tour to my 08' 5 Series to the bluetooth. When I got home yesterday and pulled in the garage I turned my car off and went inside. 5hrs later my husband comes home from work and came inside asking me why the car was running in the garage. My car is so quiet I couldn't even hear it run. I had my keys with me, I knew I had turned the car off but it was still running. Only way I could turn the car off was to turn my phone off and then power back on." The lady told my wife she was scheduled for tomorrow for the bmw dealership but was calling in to see if they had heard of this causing an issues with bmw's before. My wife was speechless. This lady became the talk of the floor as she is the first documented case of this happening.

Ummm how don't you notice your car is still running when you get out of it? How about 5 hours worth of fumes building up in the garage, eventually stinking up the house.

I have heard of some issues with newer bluetooth connectivity with older model car bluetooth setups, but never this.

If she owns a brand new 5er, chances are she has money. Chances are her house is no tiny apartment. Bluetooth maxes out around 30ft or so. Through walls and shit at that? I dunno about all that. Cool story though!
