chill out dude, its just something to discuss because shes saying ridiculous stuff. people often discuss other people's comments on things, the internet makes clips and quotes spread all over very quickly. you know these things. doesnt mean the person is some kind of entertainment or celebrity junkie.

i had not heard of whoopie goldbergs comments on anything other than tom bergeron's questions, nor had i even heard that polanski had been arrested. no ones hating on you for not knowing what she said on TV. no need to hate on anyone who happened to hear about it.

Why would I defend the guy? I agree that he's a douche. I just find it funny that he gets the douche bag of the year award but not Beck or Limbaugh. They all use the same bullshit fear tactics and rhetoric but on opposite sides of the issue.

I think the statement was what gave him the award. It would be like one of the Fox news guys getting public healthcare and saying, "Socialism didnt do shit for me."

Yea I think the longest of her show I've ever watched was the clip with Tom Cruise freaking out. I'm sure a lot of it comes from sponsor and what not, but regardless needy people are getting bailouts. You could also go as far as to say she promotes literacy because of the whole Oprah book club thing.
