                        My first awesome racecar memory:
It was sometime in the late 70s when my dad first took me to Road Atlanta to see the Camel GT, and there were lots of fire-spitting 935s there. Lots of 935s, and they were wicked fast and so cool looking. At the time, Road Atlanta did not have turns 10a and 10b, so the cars were nearly flying as they shot under the bridge and they floated over the hill. Then near the bottom of the hill, the car would finally settle and compress for turn 12.
It was insane, and as a kid, I sat there watching, enthralled for hours.

What I remember most was how the yellow Whittington Bros. 935 was visually faster than any of the others as they came under the bridge and floated towards the edge of the track while floating and falling down the hill. Of course, at the time, the Whittingtons actually owned Road Atlanta... the ultimate home field advantage!

Its hard to imagine what it must've been like to take those turbo beasts under that bridge and float towards the edge of the track down into turn 12.

I really wish I could go back in time and watch it all again.
