need help finding software

so theres this contest about naming songs, and the prize is pretty excessive, the only thing is they only play about .75 seconds worth of each song, now I have a few ideas about the songs, but i want to verify

i have recorded the sound file from the website via goldwave, and can edit it any way, but is there a way to compare this sound clip to the actual song, based on a software to find if they are matches?

basically i want to take the part of the song i think it is, match it with the other song, and see if the software verifies a match.

I've known a lot of people with apps on their phone that do this very accurately.

Not sure what you can do on the pc though/

yeah the app on the iphones requires a little more than a fraction of a second tho... thats my only problem, i was gonna match up the visuals or something of the audio or slow it way down and do the same to the songs i think it might be

that fourth one is hard to tell. i had a program called "transcriber" that was made for slowing down music in all sorts of ways and viewing the file and all. i had the free trial forever, check it out.
