    why does everyone think it is the president who makes all the difference. He represents our country, he doesn't make all its decisions. There is a lot more fucked up then just the one guy at the top. that goes for all recent presidents

      That's true, but you're making the assumption that my original question meant that McCain or Obama could/can change the entire complexion of the country.

      That's not what I'm asking/saying. What I'm after here is what people thought McCain would have made as the main points of his agenda to date had he been elected. This has nothing to do with predictions about the success or failure of that agenda.

      Its hypothetical people, work with me here, I think it could be interesting.

        I think the only difference would be the sides doing the complaining vs defending would be reversed, nothing else. He hasn't done anything revolutionary and it's all been largely out of sound advice and necessity. McCain wouldn't have a retarded chimp for an economic adviser either, and would end up doing the same thing.

          I don't think he would have done anything, bickering between the two parties would have meant no legislation at all. Sounds great to me.
