I am baffled how the centers of the circles in the Audi logo are not falling out

I'm confused how the Audi pumpkin doesn't collapse on itself

I did a BMW roundel last year. For the Blue I scraped some of the pumpkin, just not all the way through, so some light could get through. For the white I just cut it out.

The Audi one could be done just by shaving it very very thinly :)
