    A/C question

I'm not the greatest with a/c, I pretty much hate doing work on it. I was filling up the coolant on my father 98 suburban, and I noticed that the a/c cycles on and off all the time. But the a/c is off... Am I just retarded? or is something wrong?

how do you know it cycles off and on? if it does then even when the ac blower is off, if the a/c button is pressed then the a/c will still run. at least thats how it was on my silverado

Are you sure the a/c was off? Maybe the front defrosters were left on. Cuz that would usually turn on the a/c.

My damn Camaro started cycling on and off even though it was off inside the car. When the refrigerant is low I think that causes it to cycle. Luckily it was cool before I sold the car so I just unplugged the compressor and my problem was solved. AC is something I pay people to look at.

That's the piece of the missing puzzle, I forgot about that. I could see the clutch lock up and the a/c kick on so I knew it was going, I forgot the a/c would go on with defrost to dry the air.

I was bleeding the coolant so I had it on defrost full blast.
