Yep, and now they're screaming religious bigotry because they can't take responsibility for their actions.

do you guys think they are any less a religion than, say, the mormon church? the mormons believe some wacky shit but are generally accepted as a mainstream religion?
for the record, i'm a non-believer.

i dunno if i caught the last of that thread about your personal issues... can i ask, did you decide to stick it out or did things fall appart?
I know this article is music to your years and i'm behind you all the way.
yea, the mormons have a very tight knit deal.
my friend worked as a fire mechanic for the city of mesa. after 11 years of constantly being fucked with because he was single and not morman he finallt quit and went to work as a fleet mechanic for the city of chandler. not a fair deal at all.
i will say they do take care of their own though. my mom's friend is a mormon and after her husband ran up HUGE gambling debts and put them into financial ruin he bailed and left her screwed and to take care of thier duaghter who has downs syndrome. the church helped her out financially and with care programs for her daughter. they still are even though she has gotten things in better shape now.
they excommunicated him. i have to say i was impressed with their sence of community and by what they did.
i am not of fan of organized religion either.

That's not really the issue. Their beliefs are radical but it's what they do to control the flock that gets them in trouble. Abuses of their own staff and their own paying public.

I don't support the "church" of Scientology as they are now. I don't see how anyone can if they see and know the facts. Scientologists aren't allowed to search the net about Scientology or engage in anything anti Scientology or they get in trouble.
There are many people who call themselves Scientologists that don't support the "church" of Scientology and I'm fine with that.
