Driving from upstate NY to VA; which of these 3 routes?

Anyone have experience with any of these?

(there are 2 routes on the second link).

advantage of the first being that it seems to avoid DC traffic. I'll probably be leaving some time between 11am or 1pm, depending if my m contours have been clearcoated/dried a couple days by my buddy (then I have to get my tires mounted and throw them on).

    suggestions appreciated, thanks

I drove from Chautauqua, which is near Jamestown, Back to DC using the Google Route. It's about a 6 hour drive at 80mph. The Penn Turnpike is a super easy drive and really scenic. it'll bring you all the way down to 95. it looks like you're gonna be hitting the 495 beltway here in DC but if you left around 11 from Buffalo you'll hit DC right around traffic time. if you leave at 1 you'll be catching the tail end at 730ish and won't have much of a problem. It really depends on what day you're making your drive. I picked up my parts car out in the area that Yahoo brings you through, those roads are gonna have lower speed limits and fewer lanes. It's up to you. I recommend the Google Route.

I dislike the PA turnpike it's windy and trucks are rampant then the drive down from PA to DC area is very heavy with commuter traffic but if you leave accordingly it's not a bad drive. I used to drive DC to MichiHell with the ex about every other month. We drove that route a lot and we would also us the WV route to break up summer traffic.

blacke30; you're in the neighborhood? what's good around there? I'll be driving my touring down, holler if you see a sterling silver e30.

Probably too late, but I'd go Rt. 20A to Route I-390/15 S. Take 15 to Williamsport, then I-180 to Route 147, then hook back up with Route 15. Route 15 to Route 83 South to Baltimore.
