    PS3 headache

....just bought GTA IV and BAD COMPANY pre owned while I was in FL and it's turning out a nightmare make the BAD COMAPNY load in the PS3. First time didn'0t want to load to install it, but after several tries (on/off, main swithc, eject, clean the CD, etc etc) finally loaded, the system required new software download and was done, newest firmware in there.

So after all that I proceed to play, saved the game, and turned off the shit. Another day I want to play, same problem, giving me hard time to load, clean up the CD and after several tries, it loads and keep continuing the game. Now today I want to do the same and no matter how I do the shit doens't load up. The GTA IV never loaded as well. Both CD's looks factory clean, no scratch. I thought it might be the optical lens.

So I try my old pre owned as well Medal Of Honor game, and that shit will load up fast and direct, no matter how many times I try, it will load up right on while is in there. So I don't think can be the optical lens that might be dirty?

    Any idea/info/tips are welcome.

    Thanks

cleaning the disc over and over again isn't going to do anything. also, the ps3 games are region free, so they will play in any ps3.

How do I do that? How about the games loaded and current progress saved?

              Thanks

you can back up your ps3 data onto an external hard drive as long as it is FAT32 formatted, then you can restore your system and copy the save data back to it.

also, if you are having issues with games finding saves and loading stuff properly, make sure you are signed in as the same user every time.

I feel like stupid asking this, but what is FAT32, how can I get it or download (where) and how exactly I can do this whole thing, if you have a link step by step to do it, let me know...:)

                    Thanks

You would need to format the drive in FAT32. No need to download anything, just use the disk utility or whatever it's called.

Fat32 is something about the harddrive compression or something. I don't really know computers but your harddrive is fat32 if you have like windows 95 98 maybe even ME it was the old setup they used. Its not a program just the formatting of the HD.

exactly, formatting type of the hard drive. an external hard drive will be fat32 by default if it is a portable one, otherwise it might be ntfs. ps3 can only write to fat32.

Format and set up expanded storage on a PlayStation 3 This wikiHow teaches you how to format an external USB hard drive to the FAT32 file system using either a Windows or Mac computer, and then how to attach and add the external hard drive...

warning. this will erase everything off your external drive so back it up.
